The company decides how the data described here is used and is therefore its controller. Write to [email protected] with anything about this policy.
The data we hold
A name, a work email address, the website you run, the role listed for you where one is published, and the messages exchanged between us. Nothing about your private life, no payment card data, no browsing behaviour.
Where it comes from
Pages meant to be found: contact and submission pages, mastheads, author bios, professional profiles. Or from you directly, when you answer one of our emails or send a form from this site. We do not buy or rent contact databases.
Our legal basis
Proposing a paid placement to the business you run is business correspondence, carried out under the legitimate interest basis in GDPR Article 6(1)(f). Where we go on to work together, the processing needed to run that arrangement sits under Article 6(1)(b). None of this is consumer marketing.
Retention
Contacts we never work with are cleared within 12 months of the last message. Where a placement happens, records stay for the length of the relationship and five years after it, as accounting and tax rules require. Addresses that ask to be left alone are kept on a suppression list for as long as we operate — its only function is to stop anyone here writing to you again.
Recipients
Our mail provider, the service that delivers this site's forms, and our accounting software, each strictly on our instructions. A client is told the URL where their article appeared and nothing further about you. Where a provider sits outside the UAE or the EEA, transfers rely on the standard contractual clauses that provider offers.
Your rights
Ask for a copy of what we hold, have it corrected or erased, object to the processing, or tell us to stop writing. The opt-out form on our home page removes an address immediately; [email protected] works too, and anything else we act on within 3 business days. Anyone in the EEA or UK may also take a complaint to their national data protection authority.
Cookies
None for advertising or analytics. This site does not profile visitors and sets nothing that follows you elsewhere.
Updates
A revised policy replaces this text at this address, with the date at the top changed accordingly.
